Situation
Discover for Holonis is an entirely new experience that will need precise instructions for the development team. If not done correctly, there is a risk that the final implimentation will not match the designs.
Task
Create a very detailed set of specs that will reflect the design intent. These specs will take into account the current prototype that has been created for this experience. This will help the team to accurately build it.
Action
Once the final flows were done, specs were created, uploaded to Zeplin and communicated across the team. Final screens were placed within the development's project management framework for the final build.
Results
This project has been organized into several parts which will result in a smooth process of development. The navigation will be build first followed by the content experience within the page. This has been built and roadmapped.
Detailed Navigation Specs
Precise Specking
Since Holonis has development teams across multiple locations, it is imperative that precise specking of every element across the platform is achieved. This includes the new navigation bar which will go live at the same time of the new discovery experience. Specs needed to be created for every width of the navigation bar on desktop.
Hit Areas
On the current Holonis navigation for desktop, the user is often confused by the fact that the hit areas are so small. In order to remedy this issue, a specific set of instructions have been created to hand-off to development. The increased hit areas will make the site much more navigable to the user.
Detailed Content Tile Specs
Detailed Tile Specifications
Since each of these tiles has an animation sequence associated with them, it was imperative to spell this out for development. Every detail from size to position to alpha needed to be explicitly spelled out. This is one of at least 12 spec screens regarding this topic. Each spec screen needed to show how tile variations affected the positioning within the animations.
